For most people who are trying to lose weight, having a slim stomach area is top priority. However the fact is the stomach is one of the most difficult parts of the body to tone and get in shape. The fats covering the stomach muscles are very difficult to break down. Ironically, all the fats which we consume on unhealthy dieting takes a spot on the stomach forming the so-called “love handles”. These are nothing but layers of fat lining your stomach making us look unattractive and unhealthy. Besides making you look unattractive, the stomach fats pose a serious health hazard. Studies show that people with more stomach fats are more prone to hypertension and heart diseases.

Fat storage is actually a survival strategy of our bodies, so storing fats in the abs makes sense because we do not bend and move our stomach area so much at any given day so the energy stored in these fats will be saved for future use.

Now the question is, do crunches and sit ups or any abs exercise remove abdominal fat? ‘Not necessarily’ would be the answer coz any exercise will help you built muscles, tone or shape them and not necessarily to burn the fat in your body.

To remove the body fats, one must burn them, possibly through cardiovascular exercises or doing several strength-training routines. First, you have to consume less calories and fatty foods so as to minimize the fat storage in your system. The number of calories you take in each day must be proportional, or very close, to the amount of calories you can actually expend. It is a well known fact that stomach fat is the last to get burned in any exercise, training or dieting techniques. weight lifting and strength training helps to burn fat more effectively even after days of training session. Even during the rests period fat-burning mechanism is continued and metabolism of fat is enhanced.

Thus, it is only by working with a whole-body or holistic approach can one successfully eliminate stomach fats. Cosmetic surgery, such as liposuction, is not recommended because this process removes not only the fats but also the fat cells. Removal of such fat cells from your stomach and continuing with an unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits will have an adverse effect on the fat storage in your body. It caused disproportional distribution of fats resulting in out of shape body. Hence it is always wise to reduce fat by exercising your abs
